Our friends at Rub Smokehouse have won the hearts (and stomachs) of loyal customers in Birmingham, Newcastle and Nottingham with their cheeky take on classic American barbecue dishes, serving up a veritable banquet with every order. A firm front-runner over the festive period is the ‘Dog in a Blanket’, an oversized 50 cm hotdog wrapped in bacon and slow-cooked turkey, served with extra ‘pigs in blankets’ (chipolata sausages wrapped in bacon, a Christmas staple!), sage stuffing and cranberry poutine. If this wasn’t enough to knock you out for winter, try the ‘Christmas Brownie Heaven Sundae’, a homemade brownie piled high with whipped cream and lashings of gooey chocolate sauce.
